The Cameron Button Up shirt by Helen’s Closet is a relaxed shirt with a classic and roomy fit that would be a great addition to anyone's wardrobe for the autumn and winter. We will be focusing on the long sleeve view to get acquainted with traditional shirt making skills which include; sleeve plackets, yoke, collar and button holes.

Digital patterns will have to be printed in advance. You can print and tape them together or you can have the A0/copy shop files printed locally.

  • Minor pattern adjustments; lengthen/ shorten, grade between sizes

  • Hemming— straight and curved fabric

  • Sleeve placket construction

  • Collar Construction

Day 1- Pattern Prep

  • Taking accurate measurements

  • Pattern assembly

  • Cutting out patterns pieces

  • Interfacing fabric 

Day 2- Fabric Prep

  • Shirt Construction– yoke, collar

Day 3- Classic Button up Details

  • Sleeve plackets

  • Button Holes and Buttons
