Hey, I’m Jules!

I’m an interdisciplinary artist with a long time passion of fibre arts and textiles. After experiencing major burnout post university, I struggled to find joy in creating art. A couple years later I picked up sewing and I found my creativity, drive, and passion through textiles. This resurgence led to creating a comfortable, playful self-made wardrobe which has truly brought me to life.

Being a plus size maker, what I wanted to wear NEVER came in my size and when it did, it wasn’t my style. Cultivating my own wardrobe expanded my creative horizons and brought a sense of much needed body neutrality. I fervently inject colour, prints, and texture into my wardrobe. Even creating my own textile designs through printmaking— Which is what my BFA is in! All of which you can see reflected in my work now.

On my days away from my sewing machine you can find me:

  • Spending time with my three dogs

  • Playing PC games— Elden Ring and Stardew Valley are a couple of my favs!

  • Watching horrors movies while knitting

  • Thrifting for a good trinket or fabric

  • Listening to my vast music collection— from psychedelic rock and metal to oldies and punk!
